🕉️ Amarnath Temple – The Sacred Abode of Lord Shiva

The Amarnath Temple is one of the most sacred Hindu shrines, dedicated to Lord Shiva. It is located in the Lidder Valley of Jammu and Kashmir, at an altitude of 3,888 meters (12,756 feet) above sea level.

The temple is world-famous for its naturally formed Ice Lingam, believed to be a divine symbol of Lord Shiva. Every year, thousands of devotees participate in the Amarnath Yatra, a spiritually powerful pilgrimage to the holy cave.

The Amarnath Cave remains open only during summer (July–August), as it is completely covered with snow during winter.
